Melanie Grabowy Deputy Mayor of BonnIn the 2020 municipal elections, Melanie Grabowy was elected to the Bonn City Council as the direct candidate for the electoral district of Bonn-Poppelsdorf. As of November 2020, Melanie Grabowy is First Deputy Mayor of Bonn.She has been politically involved in particular for educational justice, health policy and environment protection since she was a student.Melanie Grabowy studied at the University of Bonn and became a teacher for German and Social Sciences. The worked in different functions, for example as a counsellor or deputy headmistress and recently as the founding director of Gesamtschule Windeck, a comprehensive school, which she opened in 2012. She has led the school since then as executive principal.Additionally, Melanie Grabowy has been working as a school management coach since 2015 and has supported school leaders across North Rhine – Westphalia.With her passion to build an education system that works for every child, Melanie has been at the forefront of developing inclusion and a child centered approach.Inspired by the needs during the pandemic, she also worked intensively on the digitalization of educational processes.Melanie is married and she has three children and two stepchildren.In her free time, she loves to read, hike and climb.
