Mr Martin Köppel

Dr. Martin Köppel is executive director of Protect the Planet since 2020. He ist an experienced moderator and mediator with a PhD in political science focusing on international environmental politics. With Protect the Planet, he got quickly involved into climate litigation cases such as the German Constitutional Court Case or the People's Climate Case with plaintiff families from around the globe. Besides climate litigation, he and his team are working on local divestment and coal exit projects, on entrepreneurs initiatives for climate neutral transition. Lately, Protect the Planet founded a wind council to push for higher ambitions on the use of wind energy in Germany.
